Work owned ventures

I build for clients. I also carry the consequences.

Four ventures run under my own name, plus a co-founded retail business. Every one ships to real customers, which is where the operational judgement comes from. Client work stays private unless the client says otherwise.

The Nature Gallery

A Shopify store shipping live aquatic plants and livestock Australia-wide. Eight years of Dawn theme work, Liquid templating, Admin API and Storefront API integration sits behind it.

Live goods punish sloppy systems. Stock that breathes, freight windows that close, a product that dies in a depot over a long weekend. Every operational rule I apply to client work came from here first.

Curator Collective

A compatibility, prediction and recommendation engine for planted tanks, shrimp keeping and livestock pairing. Every pairing gets scored against water parameters and returns a verdict, a score, the reasoning, the adjustments and an alternative.

The scoring model is explicit: parameter match adds two, tolerable adds one, stress risk subtracts two, high failure risk subtracts five, and a hard incompatibility triggers a red verdict outright. No sale overrides the biology.

OpenClaw

A Shopify code generation tool built as a React PWA coding agent. Dual system prompts for theme work and platform work, voice input, and a job queue for long-running tasks.

Built to make client delivery faster, then kept and extended. The tools are not what a client buys, but they are why a solo operator delivers on an agency timeline.

Wild Canvas

A private-label aquatic fertiliser brand. Formulation, branding, packaging and retail, sold through the store.

Physical product work teaches margin, freight, shelf life and returns in a way software work never does. It shows up in how I scope e-commerce builds.

Knowledge systems built, in use

Retrieval infrastructure, not a folder of PDFs.

The same architecture I sell as a RAG knowledge system runs behind my own ventures. Three formats, one source of truth.

Format 01

Retrieval corpus

A 3,200 line structured markdown document covering 600+ livestock and plant entries, algae and disease diagnosis, water chemistry, CO2 behaviour and hardscape.

Format 02

Vector payload

The same corpus as structured JSON, shaped for embedding and semantic search rather than human reading.

Format 03

Browsable reference

An HTML reference site over the corpus, so a human and a model read the same facts and neither drifts from the other.

Client work

Most of it stays quiet.

Client builds sit behind NDAs, on private admin panels, or inside businesses with no interest in being a case study. I name a client only where they have agreed to it.

If you want proof before committing, the audit is the proof. A$299 buys a ranked list of what is costing you money in your own business. You judge the work on that, not on someone else's screenshot.

Reference calls

Ask and I arrange a call with a past client where the engagement allows it.

Next step

See the work on your own business first.

The audit is the sample. A$299, delivered inside a week, credited against whatever gets built next.
